Something in the Air

Last night I was driving home from dinner when I had an overwhelming nostalgic feeling that took me as far back as my childhood. From the thickness in the air, the sight of gray, heavy, low, blanketing clouds looming, the sounds of sudden winds whipping through the trees, I could sense that a tremendous storm was in our wake. I approached my back door and I stopped dead in my tracks as a chill climbed up my spine. You know, that eerie feeling right before a huge storm rolls in and everything goes still, the birds stop chirping, the leaves cease movement. I knew then that it was going to be a great night for some thunderstorms. And sure enough, I fell asleep with continuous rumbling and flashes about me.
